MHSFCA SCHOLAR ATHLETES

The MHSFCA has selected from a group of outstanding finalists, Tyler Holtz from DeWitt and Cross Watson of Portage Central as the 2021 recipients of the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association’s Scholar Athlete Awards.

The two seniors were both recently chosen to the MHSFCA Dream Team, have grade point averages above 4.0 and scored well on ACT/SAT tests.

“These two young men represent the best of the best in the state of Michigan,” said Scott Farley, executive director of the football coaches association. “They were chosen from an outstanding group of finalists. In addition to being great leaders in the classroom and on the football field, both have served their community as leaders and volunteers.”

Tyler, who played quarterback for DeWitt, is headed to Brown University to continue his athletic and academic career while Cross will be going to Purdue University on a football scholarship.

Congratulations to both young men!
