Zach Gentile

Quarterback

5’8″ 150 lbs.

College: Western Michigan University

 

Zack’s very first play he ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. He started at quarterback, cornerback, and kicker. He also received kicks, and punts. He was moved up at the end of that year to play receiver for the varsity and had five catches and one touchdown. The next year he was the starting varsity quarterback where he rushed for 200 yards and passed for 800 yards. In his senior year he played quarterback, cornerback and received kicks and punts. He was also the long snapper, and holder for field goals. Zack rushed for 1,492 yards and passed for 1,650 yards. “This was my best year. I broke seven records and had a lot of fun working with the new offense we ran, the shot gun spread.”

 

Zack played soccer his freshman year, “which was a lot of fun, but football was my dream.” In 2004 Zack was named First Team All Conference and District, First Team All Region, Associated Press All State Special Mention and “Player of the Year” by the South Bend Tribune for his performance in the 2004 football season. He also played basketball all four years and received two varsity letters. He played varsity baseball all four years. Zack will attend Western Michigan University on a scholarship to play baseball. He plans to get a degree in elementary education.
