Utah is the son of Tod and Lisa Bartholic. He has one sister Tori (22) who will graduate from Central Michigan this summer.

Utah’s love for football started in third grade. He played for Grandville’s Rocket Program all the way through the eighth grade. In high school, he played both offensive running back and defensive linebacker his freshman and sophomore years. Utah was named captain his senior year. He led his team with the most tackles his senior year as well. Because of his exceptional play as a linebacker he was named to the OK-Red All-Conference team. Utah spent numerous hours this past summer coaching and mentoring Little Dawgs camps for the younger kids. He also spent time in the Elementary Schools reading to first graders every Thursday during the football season.

Utah also enjoyed playing baseball his freshman and sophomore years. He chose not to play baseball his junior year as he wanted to focus on becoming a better football player and putting in extra work in the weight room. He is looking forward to playing lacrosse for the first time his senior year. It is the first year Grandville has offered lacrosse.

Utah thanked his family “for all of their support throughout my football career.” He also thanked his sister, Nana, and Uncle Dave who drove for over an hour every week to see his games. He thanked his head coach, Mike Lapciuk, “for not only his support as a coach, but also as a mentor in life. He taught me to appreciate everyday not just the wins and losses.”
