During his three years of varsity football he was voted Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2008, Most Valuable Defensive Player in 2009 and Week #9 Most Valuable Player, 2010 by his teammates. His senior year in football his team made school history winning a District championship and capping a 21-2 record for his junior and seniors.

In addition to sports, Tyler loves to hunt, trap and fish. He was a three year member of the National Honor Society and a four year member of the Mecosta County Youth Advisory Committee.

Tyler thanked: “My coaches, Clark Huntey and Jake Wing; my parents, brother and sister; my girlfriend, Kenzie and the rest of my family and friends; my fellow players; all of the community and surrounding communities parents and friends for their love and support; the fans for cheering and never losing hope; and Jeff Pierce and Eric Ravalette and the rest of the Ferris State University coaches and players for the recruiting process.”
