Tyler is the son of Marcie Hanks. He has one brother, Trever.
Tyler has grown up being involved in and around athletics. He has been a three-year varsity football starter, and he was part of the team that made school history in 2010, earning the school’s first district championship. His senior year his team held a 10-2 record along with recording another district championship. Throughout his four-year career at Morley Stanwood he has been part of a 39-5 record for the class of 2012. He had several individual varsity accomplishments: 20 plus interceptions, 50 plus touchdowns, and 8 kick return touchdowns.
Tyler also participated in basketball and track. He was all state in track along with breaking the 4x200m relay record, and the 4x100m relay record as well. He went to the state finals in track two years in a row, earning an all state award for the 200m dash.
Tyler thanked, “my coaches, Clark Huntey and Jake Wing and my family for being so supportive over the last four years.” He thanked, “my teammates and friends in the community that have been so supportive of me and my team and Tony Annese and Travis Ising and the rest of the Ferris State University coaches and players for helping me during the recruiting process.”
