Tyler began his football career in the fourth grade and couldn’t wait to play High School Football. He is a member of the 2003, 2004 MHSAA State Championship teams and the 2005 State Finalists from Jackson Lumen Christi. As a sophomore, Tyler broke a record for the fastest score in a MHSAA State Championship game by throwing a 30-yard pass for a score in the first 15 seconds.

Tyler played quarterback for seven of his nine years, changing his position to wide receiver only in his junior year. As a wide receiver and team captain Tyler has broke several records at his high school. With a career total (115) receptions, (2,187) yards, and (25) touchdowns, Tyler became Lumen Christi’s all-time leader in receptions and total yards. Tyler was recognized as the top receiver in his region and most valuable player by his teammates.

Tyler was also a three-year starting varsity point guard averaging 6 assists and 14 points per game. He has received local and state honors in basketball as well as being a team Junior National Champion.

Tyler thanked his family for all their time and encouragement and all his friends who supported and followed him over the years. He gave special thanks to all his coaches for their help both on and off the field and to his teammates, “for all of the great memories.” Tyler also gave special thanks, “to the sports writers and media for the credits and for their acknowledgment of my accomplishments throughout my student-athlete high school career.”
