Assistant Coach Steve Haney
Clawson High School
Steve Haney graduated from Clawson High School in 1990, where he earned two varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from Wayne State University in 1995 with a degree in Elementary Education with a major in science. He also received his master’s degree in the athletic director’s program from Wayne State in 2004. During his college career he began coaching football at Guardian Angels School and then spent four years coaching freshman and JV football at Bishop Foley High School. In 1997 Steve took a coaching position at his alma-mater, Clawson High School, coaching JV football with his father, Ralph Haney. After four years, Steve accepted a position on the varsity staff under Hall of Fame Coach, Richard Moore. The following year, 2002, Steve accepted the defensive coordinator’s position with the varsity football team and has been there ever since. As well as coaching football, Steve has coached middle school baseball and basketball.
Steve and his wife Amy, also a Clawson graduate, live in Clawson and have been married for 14 years. They have two boys, Blake age 9 and Brett age 5. Steve has been very fortunate to coach many of their little league football, soccer, basketball and baseball teams.
