Ryan started playing football his freshman year in high school. He did not see much of the field until his senior year. In the off-season prior to his senior year he, “blossomed into an offensive lineman.” Bench pressing 325, Squatting 510 and Power Cleaning 315, Ryan was one of the strongest players on the team. A fast lineman, he ran a 5.05 forty. He was one of the captains of the 2005 squad. In his senior year Ryan played right offensive tackle and defensive end. He was one of the most physical and consistent blockers on the Chief’s Front line, and one of the reasons they made school history. The Chiefs rushed for a school record 383.7 yards per game, won their first Regional Title and made a state final appearance.

Ryan also lettered three times in football and twice in track.

Ryan was offered a scholarship to play at Wayne State. He is “excited and cannot wait to put on the Warrior’s Jersey.” Ryan will major in pre-med and would like to become an anesthesiologist. “I would like to thank my parents for all their support in my four years. You made me the person I am today. I would like to thank Coach Baechler for his dedication to our program and believing in me. I also thank my offensive line coach, Coach Williams, and defensive line coach, Coach Powers. Last (but not least) I thank my teammates. It was a great ride and I will not forget anyone.”
