Ryan was a two-year starter for the Rockford Rams as an inside linebacker. As a sophomore, Ryan was part of the Ram playoff team that won the Division 1 State Championship at Ford Field. As a junior, Ryan started for the Rams team that went all the way to Ford Field again to become the Division 1 State Runners Up. Ryan’s senior year, he led the Ram defense with 118 tackles. The Rams went on to win a piece of the O-K Red Conference title and District title with a 9-2 overall record. Ryan remembers the highlight of his senior year as “being part of an ESPN News documentary, which aired nationally, and showcased the Rockford Rams beating the nationally ranked Muskegon Big Reds. It was our biggest game of the year and our own personal State Championship game.”

Ryan thanked his family and friends for supporting him at every game. “My parents, brother and sister, grandparents, uncle and aunt, cousins and family friends were always there to cheer me on.” He gave “a special thank you to Coach Munger and the Rockford coaching staff for showing us excellence, both on and off the field.” Ryan said, “I especially thank my teammates for an incredible four years of football. We ‘found A Way… Together.’” Finally, Ryan said, “Thank you to the Ram Nation fans. It was easy to play our hearts out for the best fans ever.”
