Quarterback
6’1″ 185
High School Coach: Jim Sparks
High School, Class: Clawson, B
College: Mount Union

Rob started playing football at six where he had to play as an offensive lineman because he was the biggest kid. His dad was his youth league coach and coached him through eighth grade. When he was in eighth grade he was finally made a quarterback.

In his high school career he started at quarterback on the JV team, went undefeated and managed never to be sacked. Starting at quarterback for the varsity in his sophomore year Rob began setting records. He now holds two of the 12 school passing records along with sharing one with his brother Steve. Rob threw for over 5000 yards with a record 54 touchdown passes. His completion rate was 56.4%. In his senior season Clawson won the MAC Bronze League Championship with a 5-0 record.

Rob was also a four-year starter on the varsity basketball team, started at third base and pitched on the varsity baseball team as a freshman. He did not participate in his senior baseball season to prepare for his college career.

Robert thanked his family, friends, teammates and coaches, “for all their support and encouragement over the years.” He thanked his dad, “for taking the time to coach me in the early years and my mother who has been to all of my games, rain or shine.” Robert also thanked Coach Sparks, “for being a great high school coach along with a good friend and also for the opportunity to play in this game today.”
