Ricky started playing football in the fourth grade. His high school career started when he started on the JV team as a freshman. He started on the varsity team beginning with his sophomore year. Ricky was selected team captain during his senior year.
Ricky was also a member of the varsity track and field team where he threw the shot and discus for three years.
Ricky thanked, “God for all the blessings I have received and for molding me into the person I am today and for giving me the athletic ability to help me reach my goals.” He thanked his family, “for all of their endless love, encouragement and support; my teammates for all of the memories and my coaches for pushing me to be the best I could possibly be in order to play at the next level.” Ricky gave a special thanks to his mother and father and to his coaches: Coach Williams, Coach Branch, Coach Keith, and Coach Clingman.
