Assistant Coach Rick Roberts
Sacred Heart Academy, Mt. Pleasant
Rick grew up in Mt. Pleasant where he attended both Sacred Heart and Mt. Pleasant Public schools. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Central Michigan University. Rick has coached varsity football for the past 33 years, the past 17 have been at Sacred Heart Academy where he has compiled a record of 118-54.
Rick and his wife Mary Beth have been married for 32 years. They have three sons, Mike (27-played football at Albion college), Chris (25-graduated from Davenport University), and John (21-played football at Alma college). “The support of my wife has been a big reason that I continue to coach year after year. I thank her.”
Highlights for Coach Roberts include: 14 trips to the state playoffs with semi-final appearances in 1998 and 2006; induction into the MHSFCA Hall of Fame in 2006, and the opportunity to coach hundreds of great young men in this grand game of football. I am very excited to have this opportunity to coach in an all-star game and would like to thank the coaches association for selecting me.
