Rami is the son of Rafic and Rania Jergess. He is the oldest of three children he has a sister, Rachel (16) and a brother Raymond (13).
Rami started his football career in the seventh grade at the age of 12 for Bryant Middle School. In his eighth grade season Coach Jamie Grignon who “raised my intensity and level of play and ultimately, my love for the game,” got a special thanks. That same intensity continued for the rest of his career. As a freshmen, Rami was moved up to JV to play defensive end. His sophomore season he was a varsity player and started at offensive guard, while getting practice reps at defensive end.
His junior year he started on offense as a tight end and as an offensive guard, and then also as a defensive end. That year Dearborn High finished the regular season with a 9-0 record. As a senior, Rami was team captain and he led his team to another outstanding season and playoff berth.
Rami was voted by his teammates as the Most Valuable Lineman, and also received the Dearborn Pioneer “Leadership Award”. In addition, he was recognized and received honors for All City, All League, and All Metro West.
Rami said, “I love my teammates and consider this all star opportunity as an honor not just for myself – but for all of the DHS football family.” He thanked his parents and family “for their ongoing support throughout the years.” In addition, Rami said, “I am grateful to have worked with my passionate line coach Mike Ajami and been exposed to his dedication and commitment.” He also thanked to Coach Mifsud “for all of his guidance and everything he has done for me and my teammates.”
Rami will continue his football playing career and his education at Northern Michigan University.
