2004 All Star West

Patrick McCullogh

Defensive Line

5’10″ 230 lbs.

High School Coach: Irv Sigler

High School, Class: Grandville, A

College: Mount Union

Pat was honored as his team co-captain and MVP. “Every coach dreams of having a player like Patrick who plays with an insatiable hunger on every down. I haven’t had the chance to coach many guys who have the hunger Pat has. He is an excellent pass rusher and a linebacker in disguise because he has a great nose for the ball,” Coach lrv Sigler said. A three-year starter and a two-way standout, McCullough scored 6 TD’s as a fullback. At defensive end he recorded 139 tackles, 49 solos, 4 sacks and posted 17 tackles for loss in the 2003 season. In addition to the East West All Star game, he also received an invitation to play in the National All Star.com bowl in early July in Youngstown, Ohio.

Even though Pat’s passion is definitely playing football, he also enjoyed three years of wrestling and two years of track in high school. He earned two varsity letters in each sport and was an individual regional qualifier in wrestling in 2002 and was instrumental in his team’s State Runner-Up finish in 2002. In the classroom Pat carries a 3.6 gpa.

Patrick thanked his parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins for their encouragement and support throughout his football career. He especially thanked his dad for the pre-game steaks and Dad, grandpa Pat, and Uncles Greg and Doug for “igniting the fire” when they coached him in his early years of playing the game. Appreciation and gratitude were also extended to previous All Star Bryan Pinder for coaching him on his defensive techniques and to Jackie and Jolene for making him “train like a ‘Dawg’ – making me a stronger, faster player.” Pat thanked Coaches Sig, Holden, Gobles and all the others for their support and guidance both on and off the field. Finally, he thanked his team, the Grandville Football Boosters and fans for their “awesome support of our team.”
