NyShaun Marks is the son of David and LaTonia Smith and Keith Marks Sr.  He has five brothers, Keith Jr., Keiandre, Daveion, Jaylin and Xavier, and two sisters, Shianne and Kendra. He is Uncle Nyshaun to his niece Nyla. Nyshaun has a large family support group that includes his grandparents, many aunts and uncles and his Godmother ShaTina.

 

Nyshaun started playing football when he was in elementary school. He played Pop Warner football with the Ypsilanti Panthers before starting his Willow Run career. In his freshman year NyShaun was quickly moved up from JV to varsity. He went on to be awarded the “Newcomer of the Year” award. While on varsity NyShaun received numerous team awards that include, but are not limited to, Team MVP, Defensive MVP, and the prestigious “Blanche Snyder Academic Award” which he has received every year. 

 

Not only does NyShaun play football but he was also on Willow Run’s basketball and track teams. In track he ran the 400 m and also long jumped. NyShaun also played a pivotal role on the Willow Run basketball team winning the District Championship this year and advancing to the regional finals.

 

NyShaun thanked, “my #1 fan and supporter, my Mom, for always believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.” He thanked, “my stepdad, David, for always being there for me and showing up for my home and away games.” He also thanked his Dad and Uncle Kirby for their “never ending love and support.” Nyshaun thanked his brothers, Keith Jr. and Keiandre for, “Always pushing me harder and their unconditional support.” A “special personal thank you” went to his Coach Ru,”for not just being my coach but also for being a big influence in my life. I thank you for all that you do, not just for me but for the whole Willow Run program.” Lastly, Nyshaun thanked all his teammates “for all the memories on and off the field.”
