Nick began playing football at age eight with the Troy Cowboys Youth Football Team. At 41 pounds and barely four feet tall, he learned quickly from Coach Dave Kenan and legendary youth coach Bill Livingstone. He played Cowboy football for six years winning two Super Bowl games back-to-back and undefeated. In high school Nick scored 20 touchdowns as a freshman and made the varsity team as a sophomore. Nick scored 10 touchdowns as a junior and 17 touchdowns as a senior and was team captain. Nick tied a state record for a 99-yard kick return in the District Playoff Game against Southfield Lathrup.
In addition to football in high school, Nick played baseball, lacrosse and soccer. He participated in Peer Mediation for two years and received the 2008 Troy Youth Recognition Award for his efforts. Nick will play in the fall for Saginaw Valley State University where he received a football scholarship.
Nick thanked his parents, siblings, coaches and teammates for their support throughout his high school career. He said, “I recognize that my teammates’ efforts have added to my success; I am grateful.”
