Mitchell is the son of Gregg and Dawn Davis. He has two older sisters, Olivia (21), who attends Western Michigan University and Monica (19) who attends the University of Michigan.

Mitchell started playing football in fourth grade. He played quarterback and linebacker through his freshman year. He moved to tight end and linebacker his sophomore season. He was unable to participate in games his junior year due to transferring schools. He moved to offensive tackle and defensive line his senior year.

In addition to football, Mitchell was a two-year varsity member of the basketball team. He was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Mitchell was named the most improved player his senior season. His team was also selected academic all state both his junior and senior seasons. Mitchell’s team advanced to the Division 2 state championship game verses Detroit Martin Luther King. The Pink Arrow Project for cancer research is a highlight of every Red Arrow football season.

Mitchell thanked his parents and family for their continuous support and dedication to be at every game. He also thanked his coaches, especially Coach Dean, “for coaching me to be my best, both as a football player and as a human being.”
