Assistant Coach Mike McGuire

Coach McGuire is a 1990 graduate of Pennfield High School in Battle Creek. Following high school he graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

 

Mike started his coaching career at Pennfield while attending college. In 1990-91, Mike was a volunteer varsity coach under Dave Hudson, with scout team responsibilities and was part of the Panthers’ 1991 state championship team. From 1992-98, he was a junior varsity coach compiling a 52-8-2 record and captured six conference championships. In 1999, Mike moved up to be varsity defensive coordinator under head coach Nick Koenigsnecht. In that time the Panthers’ overall record has been 57-11 and they have won the conference championship in each of the last six seasons. Mike currently teaches sixth grade at Pennfield Middle School.

 

Coach McGuire stated, “I would like to thank all the players, coaches, administrators, community members, and my family for enriching my life and for sharing the tremendous memories we all created together as a team.”
