Michael started his football career for the Ogemaw Browns. Continuing his career at Ogemaw Heights HS, he was a three-year varsity starter at both safety and running back. He was awarded All Conference honors all three years. Michael was a member of the Bay City Times Dream Team twice, received the Bay City Times Golden Helmet, earned the honor of the Bay City Times Coca-Cola Player of the Year, and was First Team All State his senior year. He was also voted MVP of the team by his fellow teammates. Over his three-year varsity career Michael set 14 records at Ogemaw Heights including: most rushing in a season, 1,292; rushing yards in career, 2,297; and career points scored, 247. He helped his team take part in a Conference and District Title games.

As well as playing football, Michael played four years of basketball and baseball. He was a two-year starter for the basketball team and a four-year starter for his baseball team. Michael’s senior and Big League baseball team from West Branch won two State Championships, one Regional Championship, and played in the Big League World Series in Easley, South Carolina.

Michael is unsure of what college he will attend. He thanked Coach Pratley, Coach Peace, and Coach VanOosten for “all their help throughout high school.” He also said, “I thank my friends and people in the community who’ve supported me and especially my family for being my backbone throughout my career.”
