Mike started playing football in the sixth grade with the Macomb Mustangs.  He also, played for Seneca Middle School for Coach Patty and Coach Julian.   Mike started every game since seventh grade.  He has been a star defensive player at Dakota High for four seasons, playing an important role in Division 1 State Championship victories in 2006 and 2007.  Primarily a defensive lineman, Mike was a feared pass rusher and an excellent defender against the run.  In his senior year, he was named Dakota Defensive Lineman and MVP of the year.  He blocked two punts, scored a touchdown on an interception, and had three fumble recovery returns in which one set up another touchdown.  He also played a role on offense, blocking in short yardage situations and in the red zone.  His play as a senior helped him get him statewide recognition.  He was named to both the Detroit News All State Dream Team and the Detroit Free Press All State Team.

Mike thanked all his family and friends that have supported him throughout the years.  He also, thanked his teachers, teammates and the entire football coaching staff at Seneca Middle School and Dakota High School.   Mike said, “I am excited to be continuing my education and football career at Wayne State University, and look forward to playing defense for the Warriors.”
