Lowell High School

Mark graduated from Midland H.H. Dow High School in 1975 where he had played football and baseball. He played football for Olivet College and earned his undergraduate degree in 1979. His M.A. is in Education and was earned at Central Michigan University in 1990.

Mark started teaching in Lowell in 1979. He has coached football for all of his 27 years at Lowell. He also coached baseball for ten years. While coaching at Lowell, “I have worked with two very good head coaches, Phil Christensen and Noel Dean. I would like to thank my high school coach Al Quick. He was the reason why I wanted to get into coaching.”

Lowell has won two state championships in the last four years “due to all the hard work the players have done. Thanks for letting me be part of the ride.” Remember, “Work ethic, effort, and attitude are the things we control.”

Mark’s wife is Nancy. He has a son Andy (5), step-sons, David (19) and Scott (17). Coach Russell said, “Thank you for allowing me to be part of the Red Arrow program.” He also thanked the coaches association, “for selecting me to coach in this game.”
