Mario is the son of “two lovely parents, Timika Smith and Mario Carson, Sr. He lives with his mother, sister (Shamika) and brother (Mike) in Detroit.

 

Mario started playing football when he was seven years old when he played for the Eastside Colts in the Police Athletic League. In high school he played both offense and defense. As a ninth grader at Southeastern he was part of the Jungaleers’ 2009 City Championship team. In his sophomore year, they repeated as City Champs and added a District Championship. As a senior, Mario was named All League, Honorable Mention All State at Center and won the “City Baller” Dream Team Award.

 

Mario gave a “special thanks to the One up above.” He also thanked his family and friends, his mother and his cousin Chris Mason, “who never gave up on me and showed me how to focus on positive energy and learn to expel the negative and learn from the experience.” Mario also thanked his coach, Deon Godfrey, “for being just like a father to me.”
