Lucas started playing football in the ninth grade. He was on varsity for two years, and was a senior captain on the State Runners-up team. The 2005 Falcon offensive line helped set many records in the school and region by paving the way for 5,441 rushing yards and 573 points while putting three backs over 1,000 yards.

Lucas was also on the track and field team, which won the league and regional titles last year.

Lucas was a member of the National Honors Society for three years. He also enjoys participating in church service projects locally and overseas. He thanked, “the whole community for supporting our team so enthusiastically. I will always miss playing in front of the crowd in Monroe on a Friday night. I would thank my family and friends for supporting me through good and bad times. You don’t know how much it means to me.” He would also like to thank “Coach Giarmo and my teammates for so many memories, and especially my dad for always being there for me. Everyone made playing a lesson in sports and in life.”
