Lucas also played basketball and baseball through middle school. He will continue his accademic and athletic pursuits at Western Michigan University.

Lucas said, “I am thankful to my two older brothers, Zachary and Justin, who have greatly influenced my life. I am very blessed to have two brothers as great as they are. They’re my heroes. They’re my mentors. And they’re my best friends.” He thanked his teammates, “I truly believe the reason we won back to back state titles is because we are a family.” Lucas also thanked his coaches, especially Coach Fracassa, “You have instilled lessons, knowledge, integrity and wisdom in me that goes to greater depths than one would understand. Thank you to my family for your continued fan support and encouragement. Lastly, thanks to God for the blessings that are bestowed upon me daily, and for your continued guidance. Lucas ended with a quote from Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
