Lee Griffith graduated from Mendon High School in 1962. In 1972 he started the Rocket Football program in Mendon. He became an assistant coach at Mendon High School in 1987 where he worked under Roger Smith and John Schwartz. In 1998, Lee became an assistant coach at Constantine High School where he worked under Tim Baker and his son, Shawn. While at the two schools, he has coached in seven State Championship games, and in 2006 he was awarded Assistant Coach of The Year by the MHSFCA. He was also an Assistant Coach on an Indiana vs. Michigan All Star game in 2010.

Lee and his wife Sue have four children (Three son’s, Buzz, Shawn, and Shane, and a daughter Leasa) as well as nine grandchildren. His daughter Leasa is Athletic Director and girls basketball coach at Mendon High School where her Assistant Coach is her brother Buzz. They also have a very successful program.
