Kyle is the son of Steve and Sandra Rachwal. He has an older brother Sean who is married to Bobbie Ann.

Kyle started playing Pop Warner tackle football in Davison, Michigan in the fourth grade. He played quarterback and linebacker, finishing his fourth and final year there undefeated. He started his freshman year on junior varsity with 75 tackles in 4 games. He was brought up to varsity halfway through his freshman year. His sophmore year, Kyle played both ways, he was a tight end and linebacker. He helped his team win The Flint Metro League Title in 2011. His junior year Kyle was a two-way starter again, playing tight end and linebacker. He was voted team MVP his junior year. His senior year Kyle was team captain, a two-way starter and the punter. Kyle was voted team MVP and set the school record for tackles in a single season at 109. He also set the school record for touchdowns in a single season at 18.

His freshman year Kyle was starting center on junior varsity basketball. He continued up the ranks his sophmore year to become the starting varsity center and led the FML in total rebounds with 185. His junior year Kyle was the basketball team captain and starting center. Kyle was an honor roll student all four years of high school. He was a member of LINKS (a program that works with special education children), was voted a Lapeer East Hero and was named Athlete of the Year by Elga Credit Union. Kyle also loved coaching his 5th and 6th grade basketball team.

Kyle thanked “God first and foremost for blessing me with the talent and opportunity to pursue my dreams. I thank my parents Steve and Sandra for guiding me through tough times and instilling in me a great work ethic, my brother Sean and his wife Bobbie Ann for supporting me and cheering me on. I thank all of my coaches for teaching me the game and always expecting the best out of me. Coach Weingartz and Coach Thomas for their belief in me to be the best. I thank: My grandparents, Jim and Mary Rachwal for coming to all my games and being my biggest fans. My grandparents, Big Al and Rose Matera for watching over me from heaven and being my guardian angels. My Uncle Chris for always having my back. My uncles, aunts and cousins for believing in me. My friends and teammates for following me into battle and all the great times. Last but not least, I thank Justin Cessante and Mike Alexander: Justin for opening my eyes and making me the man I am today. Mike Alexander for seeing something in me at a young age and all the endless support he gives.”
