While attending Alma High School, Kyle earned the following honors: All State AP First Team Division 3 and 4 Linebacker, All State Detroit Free Press Div. 4, Dream Team Detroit News, Ranked 27th in the Detroit News 2009 Blue Chip Recruits, 2008 Morning Sun Defensive Player of the Year, 2008 Saginaw News Dream Team, 2008 Lansing State Journal Dream Team.
Kyle was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track earning 11 varsity letters and 7 First Team All-Conference medals. He was a state qualifier for Div. 2 Shot put 2008. He holds a school record of 384 career tackles in football.
Most recently, Kyle received a great academic honor when he was recognized as one of the 32 student athletes selected to be a 2009 MHSAA Scholar Athlete by the Farm Bureau Insurance Agency. Kyle has had some great fans over the years including his mom, grandmas and grandpas and many aunts, uncles and cousins. “I recognize and appreciate all the coaches that have inspired me over the years from kids football coach Bob Kanine to all of my high school coaches in all of my sports.” He said, “I am especially grateful to defensive coach Jeff Ingersoll and head football coach and dad, Randy Lark.” Kyle also recognized his cousin, Matt Lark, who is the ball boy today for the West Team.
