Kyle Bambard is the son of Eric and Kelly Bambard. He has an older sister, Kala (23) who lives in Arizona.
Kyle started playing football in the third grade for the local youth program, the Walled Lake Braves. Since day one, Kyle has played quarterback, but it was not until his third year of football that he took up kicking. Kyle had always had an ability to kick, as he had played soccer since he was three years old, so the transition to football was not too difficult for him. Since his first day of kicking he has worked with the kicking coach at his high school, Nick Michniacki, “who really developed me into the kicker I am today.” In high school, Kyle started at quarterback and kicker for the JV team as a freshmen. As a sophomore, he was the starting place kicker, and split time at quarterback. Both his junior and senior years, he took over the starting quarterback position along with all of the kicking duties.
As a freshman and sophomore he also played baseball in the spring. As a junior he ran track, and in his senior year, he just focused on kicking and weightlifting. While doing all of this, Kyle maintained a 3.4 GPA, taking numerous honors, AP, and IB courses that were offered at Western. He was also in Student Leadership, which is a class that coordinates all school functions throughout the year, including homecoming and prom.
Kyle thanked all of his coaches and teammates who have developed him into the player, and person that he is today. He said, “The lessons I have learned from them on and off the field are a true testament to the character of everyone involved in the WLW Football program.” He thanked, “my parents, sister and extended family most of all. I would not be anywhere without their unconditional love and support from day one, especially my parents who have given me nothing but opportunities to chase my dreams, love, and support for 18 years.” He addeed, “The brotherhood that I have formed over the past four years in Walled Lake Football is unparalleled, and will never be forgotten.”
