Julius attended his first football practice when he was five days old when his brothers Frank (26) and Tony (25) where practicing with the Allen Park Bulldogs, where he was a 7 year veteran. During their six year tenure with the Jags the Roberts brothers had a .852 regular season winning percentage. Keeping with the family tradition, Julius was also named captain his senior year.
Julius was a two-year starter at linebacker and fullback his senior season. He had 79 tackles, 4 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries and was named Defensive MVP. At fullback he had over 300 total yards and scored 2 touchdowns.
Julius was awarded the Robert D. Kelly Scholarship and carried a 3.94 GPA. He was ranked 17th in his class. He also played freshman baseball and freshman and JV basketball. Most days he could be found at the gym after school.
Julius thanked his parents for their “encouragement and support,” as well as his brothers for pushing him in the weight room. ” I would not have been the player that I was without my family’s help.”
