5’11″ 191 lbs
High School: Warren DeLaSalle Collegiate, A
High School Coach: Paul Verska

Josh is son of Gregory and Teresa Cox. He has an older brother Gregory (21), two older sisters, Shawnrica Valle (31) and Alana Williams (35), and younger brother, Christopher Cox (15).
Josh started playing football for the Grosse Pointe Red Barons when he was in the eighth grade. He played on the offensive line for the first week of practice. They moved him to running back for the first game and took the first play to the end zone. He said, “That’s what started my love for the game.” He also played cornerback, was a returner, and played some nose guard.
Josh attended De La Salle Collegiate for his four high school years. He was moved up to varsity after his freshman year and by his sophomore year was starting on the offensive side of the ball at runningback. Injured after the fourth game, he spent the rest of the season recuperating. As a junior and senior, he was a two-way starter at running back and safety.
He said, “I feel blessed that God gave me the ability to play the game of football. I cherish every down like it was my last. My dad passed away my sophomore year and I truthfully felt like that channeled more of my drive, and the only way to reconnect with him was back on that football field. I thank all the people who trained me, people that have been there all the way through my journey, and the De La Salle staff and teammates being part of my family. I wouldn’t have made it through without you.”
