Regarded as a “player to watch,” the Kalamazoo Gazette named Josh as a Prep-Star his junior year.

Josh said that one of his best memories is during his junior year when the Portage Northern Huskies advanced to the State Play-off Game in 2005. “I enjoyed the opportunity for us as a team to be rewarded for our season of hard work and determination,” As a freshman, Josh had the opportunity to move to the varsity team and play with his senior-class brother in the State Play-off Game; Josh was the only freshman to receive this honor.

Since his freshmen year, Josh has been a yearly three varsity sport athlete earning ten varsity letters at Portage Northern. Josh was a varsity wrestler for three years. In track he has earned the most team points as a thrower. In his freshman year, Josh lettered in hockey.

Football is a passion in Josh’s household. Josh thanked his older brother, Jacob for his advice and guidance. Jacob is an All Conference MIAA right tackle at Hope College.
