Jonathon Pohl

Outside Linebacker

College: Harvard University

 

Jonathan was a three-year letter winner for the Detroit Country Day Yellow Jackets, and a two-year starter on both the offensive and defensive lines. In his senior year, Jonathan was named captain and was a leading tackler on the team, recording 81 tackles and 11 sacks while playing defensive end. As an offensive guard he was a solid pass and run blocker. Jonathan also contributed on the kickoff and punt return teams for the Yellow Jackets.

 

Jonathan was also a three-year starter on the Country Day lacrosse team, helping to lead his team to two straight championship appearances and a state championship in 2003. In his junior year he was an All State and All Midwest selection for lacrosse and was named captain in his senior year. He has been accepted at Harvard and hopes to play lacrosse there in the fall. Jonathan has served on his school’s class board since his freshman year and has been actively involved in community service.

 

Jonathan thanked, “God for the many gifts he has filled my life with.” He gave thanks to his parents for, “supporting me in all of my endeavors and giving me constant encouragement.” Jonathan also thanked his friends and family for “always being there for me.” He said, “I am extremely thankful for my high school coaches who helped make me the player I am today, especially coach Mac who inspired me through his energy and enthusiasm.” Jonathan also thanked all of the “killer bees” who made his football experience so enjoyable.
