John is the son of Robert Terry and Diana Cook.  His younger brother’s name is James Terry (16).  He is a sophomore at Tecumseh High School and plays basketball.

John has played football since second grade.  He was moved to the varsity football team halfway through his freshman year. He played running back and defensive back throughout his career.  In 2011, he was named team MVP.  In 2012, he was awarded the Tecumseh Football “Coach’s Award”.  He was team captain in both 2011 and 2012.  In his senior year he earned Southeastern Conference First Team Defense, First Team All Lenawee County, and First Team All State Detroit Free Press awards.

John also participated in other sports. He played basketball for two years, baseball for two years, and track for two years.  He was Academic All State in baseball in 2011 and Academic All State Honorable Mention in football in 2012.

John said, “I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to play football throughout high school.  I have made life-long friends and learned many life lessons from playing.  I thank my family for always supporting me in whatever I do and I also thank Coach Al Romano for everything he has done for me on and off the field.  It was great to be a Tecumseh Indian.”
