Jason is the son of Mike and Nancy Ribecky. He has a sister, Lisa (25), and soon to be brother-in-law, Dan Salvati (25).

Jason began playing youth league football in the third grade and continued his career through middle school, junior varsity and varsity. He was a three-year starter on varsity as an offensive tight end and defensive middle linebacker and also joined the 2008 state championship team during the post-season as a freshman. Additionally, he had special teams roles as punter his junior year and long-snapper his senior year. His senior year Jason was voted team captain and most valuable player by his teammates.

In addition to football, Jason was a three-year starter in varsity baseball and basketball. In baseball, he was first team all conference, all district, and all region as a sophomore and junior as well as all area his junior year. Jason received the team slugger award his sophomore and junior years and was voted team captain as a senior. During the summer, he plays for the West Michigan Riptide baseball team. In basketball, he was first team all conference, all area, and team most valuable player his junior and senior years. He was all state honorable mention in 2011 as well. Jason was voted team captain his senior year and averaged about 20 points per game. Outside of sports, he also enjoys volunteering and working with the No More Sidelines organization.

Jason thanked his parents for supporting him by being at every sporting event through the years, being his biggest fans, and for pushing him to do his best athletically and academically. He also expressed gratitude to his sister for being such a great role model and to his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends for all their support. He also thanked his head coaches – Mike Holmes, Dave Ingles, and Steve Schuitema – for all they have done to make him a better player and person.

Jason was recruited by various colleges and universities to play football, basketball and baseball. He has accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Muskegon Community College.
