By middle school Jamie was moved to the quarterback position but kept up his duties of kicking and playing linebacker. This continued throughout high school although defensively he was moved to safety. He led his team to a Division 5 State Championship as a sophomore, playing quarterback, kicker and punter. For his junior and senior years Jamie was a team captain and led those teams to respective playoff runs. He broke several school records including most points in a season with 216 and was named All State both years (junior year as a kicker and senior year as a defensive back).
Jamie also played baseball and basketball earning all state awards in baseball and all area awards in basketball. He will attend Grand Valley State University in the fall to play both football and baseball.
Jamie thanked “God and my family for all the support they’ve given me over the years.” He thanked Coach Jack Schugars and his coaching staff for “the many, many hours they have put in teaching, encouraging and supporting me in achieving my goals.
