Isaiah is the son of Byron and Poinsetta Gourdine. He has an older sister, Tiffany, who lives in Stafford, Virginia and an older brother, Byron Jamal, who just graduated from Virginia State University. He also has a nephew, Dustin, that lives with him.

Isaiah started playing football at age four, playing flag football in New Jersey, where he was born, with the Pop Warner league. By the age of seven his family moved to Virginia where he continued playing flag ball with the parks and recreation league before moving up to the Virginia Beach Mustangs. The Mustangs went on to become state champions and went to Disney World to compete for the National Championship where they finished third.

In Michigant, at Power Middle School for his seventh and eighth grade years, his teams had just two losses. In his freshman year in high school he played JV and finished 9-1. In his sophomore and junior summers Isaiah traveled with Rising Star Recruiting 7 on 7 going to different college camps and the national underclassman camps which took him all the way to Norman, Oklahoma where he won many MVP’s and he took home the top award, the Dodie award.

Isaiah worked at weight training and running and “living by my dad’s quotes.” He thanked, “God for blessing me with the ability to play sports.” He thanked his coaches and teammates from flag, Pop Warner, high school and his mentor, Coach Wynn. He said, “Most of all, I thank my parents and family for always being there to push me when I needed it the most.”
