Heath was a three year starter for St. Johns High School. In 2003, he started at tailback and strong safety where he racked up 103 tackles to go along with 3 interceptions. In 2004, he played tailback and moved to free safety making 126 tackles and 7 interceptions. He earned All State Honorable Mention honors and was selected First Team All Area as a defensive back. In the 2005 season, as a senior captain of the team and still at tailback and free safety, Heath had 87 tackles and 2 interceptions and earned honors as the team MVP. He was First Team All State, Lansing State Journal Dream Team, and First Team All CAAC-2 as a defensive back. During Heath’s varsity football career, he set new records for career tackles (316), interceptions (12), and pass break-ups (15).

In addition to football, Heath participated in varsity track for four years, captain for two; and basketball for three years. Heath will attend Hillsdale College to play football.
