Over the past ten years, football has played a pivotal role in Hayden’s life. He began by playing football in the fourth grade in the Pop Warner program and continued to play throughout middle school and high school. As a freshman, he was selected to play on a specialty team and assisted the team as they fought their way to the State Championship game in Greenville. The following year, he earned a starting position on the team as a defensive back. Not only did he play defensively, he also earned a spot on the offense as a wide receiver. It was at this time when Coaches Ron Bindi and Brock Robinson realized his potential as a wide receiver. As a junior, he earned a full time starting position offensively as a wide receiver and defensively as a linebacker. During his senior year, he played a variety of positions, filling any position that needed help. There were rarely any plays that did not feature his talent in some way.

Throughout the years, Hayden has earned a plethora of awards ranging from local, regional, and All State recognitions. Though, his talents are not limited to football. He is a recognized three-sport athlete and has earned honors in both football and basketball. Though he shows talent on the field, he claims, “The reason I have been able to be successful is because I have had a series of great coaches, great teammates and great opponents. Without them, I wouldn’t have pushed myself to become a better player.”

Throughout the years, parents Lori and Jim, older sister, Samantha, and younger brother and teammate, Griffon, have continued to support him in his athletic career. Along with his family and friends, Hayden has been able to rally a community behind him. “The people of Bellaire have always shown me support in my athletic career. They have made the long trips, stood in the rain, and have always given me advice for the upcoming game. Without their support, I don’t think that sports would’ve had such a big impact on my life.” Hayden thanked, “Everyone who has assisted me in my athletic career, especially all of my coaches, teammates, and fans throughout the year. It’s been a great journey, one that I will never forget.”
