His junior year as a wide receiver was shortened due to a broken thumb in the 7th game but not before gaining 557 yards on 33 catches with 8 touchdowns and helping his team advance to the playoffs for the first time in school history. His senior year proved to be a record breaking year where he caught 64 passes for a Monroe County region record of 1219 yards and 17 touchdowns, 1 defensive touchdown as a defensive back and 1 touchdown on a kick off return. Defensively, he had 10 interceptions as a cornerback while helping his team achieve a 10 and 2 season winning their first district title in school history. Eric maintained scholar athlete status his entire high school career.

Eric was a three sport player. He played varsity baseball starting as a freshman and as a junior helped his team win the first regional baseball title in school history. Eric thanked his mom and dad for, “going to every one of my games and always being there when I needed it most. My parents and my brothers Chad and Chris give me tremendous support. Without their support I would not be where I am now.” Eric also thanked his coaches and teammates for believing in him as well as for his quarterback Michael Hewitt for handling the hardships he’s faced in the past couple months. “Most people would have given up but Mike’s not most people. What he did after such a tragedy will never be forgotten. Mike and his family will be in our hearts forever.”
