Desmond has developed a love for the game of football through being around his dad and brother Tyler. His dad, Scott, played at Ferris State University and later went on to coach at various high schools. His brother Tyler, also played football at Grandville and through watching his brother, Desmond was inspired to play the game as well. He started playing the game in third grade through the Rocket football program and his passion only continued to grow for the sport through middle and high school. 

Desmond has also been involved in hockey and lacrosse the majority of his life and earned 11 combined varsity letters through his high school experience before focusing on weight lifting and running track his senior year. 

Desmond was a part of the National Honor Society and maintained a 4.12 weighted GPA throughout high school. 

Desmond attributes his athletic and academic successes to “my parents, family, coaches, teachers, and friends who have supported me.” Desmond plans to attend the University of Michigan on a full tuition football scholarship where he will further his athletic and academic endeavors.
