Darrell was a four-year football player at West Catholic High School in Grand Rapids. As a sophomore and junior, Darrell lettered as a defensive lineman. In his senior year, Darrell was voted team captain and earned a letter as an offensive lineman and long snapper. The successful season and playoffs for the 2004 Falcons was reached through team effort and teamwork. Darrell is proud to be the 5th representative from West Catholic High School in the All Star Game.
Darrell also lettered his freshman and sophomore years in track and field, throwing the shot and discus. As a junior, Darrell lettered in basketball.
Darrell thanked his family and friends for their support and encouragement. He also thanked his teachers and counselors and school staff for his academic success. Most of all, he expressed his gratitude to the coaching staff, teammates and training staff for helping him to be a success at this and the next level of athletics. Finally, he thanked the fans, cheerleaders and sponsors for their support.
