Dan was a two-year starter for the Jefferson Bears. Most of his junior year was spent playing defense where he received the Most Improved Player award. As a senior, Dan started both on offense and defense. He was named MVP by his teammates, he rushed for 1000 yards on 133 carries, and finished the season with 11 touchdowns. For his efforts, Dan was selected as a Huron League First Team All League Running Back, Second Team All League Defensive Back, and First Team All Region Running Back.
At Jefferson High School, Dan was also a two-year starter for the varsity baseball team and played varsity basketball his junior and senior year. Dan was involved in the DARE program as a DARE role model, a member of SADD, and also volunteered with Special Olympics at Jefferson High School.
Dan thanked the entire Jefferson Football coaching staff for believing in his talent and giving him the opportunity to be a part of one of the best football programs in the MHSAA. Dan also thanked his older brother, Jason, for his guidance and assistance in making him achieve only the best on the playing field. Lastly, Dan thanked his teammates for making his senior season one to remember.
