Corey is the son of James and Kathleen Arnouts. He has three siblings, Madison, Morgan and Jared. His grandparents are Donna Hobart; James and Debra Arnouts; and Fred and Carol Arbour.

Corey played varsity football for three years at Grand Ledge High School. In 2009 he was a part of the team that was 7-3. In 2010 his team was 9-1. That year, Corey received All Conference Capital Area Activity Conference (CAAC) Blue honors, and was named Class A All Area by the Lansing State Journal. In 2011 Corey was a part of an 8-3 team. He received All Conference CAAC Blue honors, All Area, Lansing State Journal, and All State Honors, Detroit Free Press. In his career, Corey had over 200 tackles and over 50 tackles for loss.

Corey was a four-year Grand Ledge varsity wrestler that placed sixth in the state at 285 pounds his senior year. He was All Conference, All Area and All State his senior year. He was a part of two District Championship teams coached by Steve Delaney, Andy Iszler and Tom Muir. Corey was also a two-year member of the National Honor Society.   Corey had a 4.0 GPA and took four AP courses at Grand Ledge.

Corey thanked his “entire family and football coaching staff including: Matt Bird, Sean Stevens, Blake Wegenke, Mark Ditsworth and Chad Guild.” He also thanked the “entire Grand Ledge Community for the support they have shown to the football program during my four years there.”
