CJ’s football career started in the sixth grade.  He played for the Warren Jets where he was a defensive end and offensive lineman.  He went to Missouri two years in a row to compete in a tournament for little league football.  In his last year playing for them he went to Florida to compete in a tournament.  In high school, CJ was a three-year starter at outside linebacker.  As a junior, he was named captain of his team and helped his team get their first win in two years.  As a senior, CJ started at outside linebacker and fullback.  The Fitzgerald defense averaged the lowest “most points against” in the county.  He helped lead his team to one of the best records in school history and the school’s second district title.

CJ also wrestled on varsity for four years.  He was a 171 pounder for his first two years, a 189 pounder for his junior year, and a 215 pounder his senior year.  In his senior year, he helped lead his team to a district title and qualified for the state meet.

CJ thanked his family, “for always being at my games cheering me and my team on and always being there when I need them.” CJ also thanked his coaches and team, “for letting me be a captain and pushing me hard so I can be all I can be and for giving me a great senior year at Fitzgerald.” CJ said, “I hope to continue my football career in college.”
