He was a member of the National Honor Society, PALS, and SADD. He became a member of The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) after attending a summer leadership program at Harvard University where he earned the Outstanding Academic Achievement award. During the summer of his sophomore year, he was selected to attend the National Student Leadership Conference Entrepreneurship and Business program at Fordham University in New York City, where he led his team to win the Business Simulation Competition.

Bruce said, “No one achieves success alone. Reflecting on my achievements, I would like to thank my family for their support, my trainer, Josh Gibbs, for teaching me the benefits of dedication, my football coaches for their faith in me, my Leslie High School Varsity Football teammates, and Coach Darrell Funk of The University of Michigan for the knowledge he instilled in me.”
