Brett is the son of Jason Koch and Jennie Avis. He is the step-son to Kevin Avis. Brett has twin younger brothers, Quin and Hunter Avis (5).
Brett began playing football for the Dearborn Lions at age 11. As a freshman at Edsel Ford Brett started both ways on the JV team. During his sophomore year he remained on the JV team as the captain and led the team in tackles. As a junior he started at guard on the varsity team and the team ended the season with an 8-1 record. Brett’s senior year he started both ways and anchored both the offensive and defensive line.
Brett thanked his family, “for their continued support” He also gave a special thank you to, “my coaches for teaching me the game of football and many other lessons.” Brett ended by thanking, “anyone and everyone who has played the game with me. I have memories from them that I will never forget.”
