Mr. Hamilton served as an assistant varsity football coach from 1957-1965 and as the head varsity football coach until 1981, marking 25 years of combined football coaching in Clawson Public Schools. During his 16 years as head coach, his teams compiled a winning record – 75-59-3 – including 11 seasons with 5+ wins. Mr. Hamilton’s teams won two Oakland A Championships during his reign. In addition to coaching, Mr. Hamilton was a social studies teacher at CHS, touching many lives by bringing the curriculum to life in his classroom for over 30 years. Mr. Hamilton was inducted into the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1985.
