Ben is the son of Mike and Lori Rybicki. He has a twin brother, Joe (18), who will also attend Michigan Tech. and play football, and two younger sisters, Leiya (14) and Evelynn (10).

Ben has played football for the last eight years, three on varsity. He has played on both sides of the ball for his high school career, playing linebacker on defense and fullback on offense. His senior year he tallied 110 solo tackles as well as 149 carries for 1,136 yards and 21 touchdowns. Ben was honored to serve as a team captain for three of his high school years. He was selected by his teammates as both the Offensive and Defensive Team MVP in 2015. The team’s success included District Champions in 2014, Tri-Valley Central Conference Champions and District Champions in 2015. The team was also named 1st Team All State Academic in 2015.

Ben was a member of the National Honor Society. He held a 3.9 GPA throughout high school while being a three-sport athlete. He was a member of the varsity hockey team for four years, serving as the team captain for two years. He earned Second Team and Honorable Mention All Conference honors his junior and senior years. Ben also played baseball for four years, three years on varsity. He helped lead the team to the first District Championship in ten years during his junior year and earned First Team All District honors as a utility player.

Ben said, “I would thank everyone that has supported me through school, sports, and life throughout the last four years, especially my parents and coaches. Next year, I will play football at Michigan Tech and I’d like to major in Civil Engineering.”
