Anthony began his football career with the Dearborn Heights Raiders in fourth grade and has had a passion for the game ever since. When in ninth grade at Dearborn High, he was moved up to the varsity for their playoff run to the State Semi-Finals. He then quarterbacked the Pioneers to a second State Semi-Final appearance in 2006. In his senior year, Anthony led his team to a second consecutive District Championship and established all new school records for passing. Anthony was recognized by the Detroit News as the 2007 “Dream Team” Quarterback, and by the Detroit Free Press as the 2007 Division 2 All-State Quarterback and Offensive Captain.
Anthony was also a standout in basketball and track. He was a three-year starter in basketball and was a two-year captain; two-year all league player and a two-time Co-MVP of the team. In track, he earned “All State” status in 2006 as a relay member and was voted captain for his senior year. his senior year, he received the MHSAA Scholar Athlete Award, and was also named the “Athlete of the Year” by the City of Dearborn. Anthony maintained over a 4.0 GPA throughout high school, was a peer mediator. a link crew leader, and a member of National Honor Society.
Anthony said, “I am appreciative of everyone who has been supportive throughout my entire athletic career, especially my family and my parents.” He thanked all of his teammates and friends, and was “especially grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez for all of their extraordinary support and dedication to the Pioneer family. I am proud to represent my teammates and all the Dearborn Pioneers today in the All-Star game.”
