Andy’s parents are Kathy and Tom Rindle and Scott and Christine Maschke. Andy grew up in Hartland with his older brother Brad who instilled the love of football in his “little brother”. Andy’s mom Kathy is Hartland alumnae while his dad is Brighton alumnus. Andy has worn the #52 almost his entire football career, beginning in second grade in honor of his dad who wore that number as a Brighton Bulldog.

Andy played for the HAYAA football program starting in the second grade in the Gold Division. He played both offense and defense at several positions. In high school he played two games on the freshman team and was pulled up to JV for the next six. He finished his freshman year on the varsity team for the last regular season game and first round play offs and started at defensive tackle throughout the rest of his high school career. Andy was a captain of the Eagles team as a senior, was First Team All County his junior and senior years as well as First Team All Conference both years and was a scholar athlete.

Andy also played lacrosse for the Catholic Central Shamrocks summer team through his junior high years, when it was thought that lacrosse would be the sport he pursued but his love of football won out!

For the future, Andy plans an engineering degree at the University of Dayton and looks forward to playing for the PFL champion Dayton Flyers.

Andy said, “My parents (all four of them!) have been very supportive through all the years I have played football as was my brother Brad who has taught me a lot about workouts and hard work! My grandparents, Paul and Margaret Murtagh have also been there for me for every game and I am looking forward to having them all in the stands in Dayton, Ohio. I have had awesome coaches all throughout the years and want to thank Coach Brian Savage for always being supportive of me and helping me to get to the next level!”
